Meet The Team
Bev
Director
Along with my sister Jacqui, I am the co-director of Carousel, which has been a way of life for me since 1992. I have helped to shape our nursery into the successful, caring business that it is today. I am married with a large family, including young grandchildren, and they are all hugely important to me. In my spare time I enjoy keeping fit, cooking, gardening, reading and socialising.

Director
I am co-director of Carousel Day Nursery, together with my sister Bev. After many years I still find the dynamic of running this nursery so rewarding. In my ‘other life’ I love to spend time with my family and friends, walking with my dog, reading and baking cakes.
Katharine
Manager
I am one of Carousel’s ‘Old Girls’, having come to the nursery when Bev first opened it in 1992. I eventually went on to study History at the University of Cambridge and after working for an MP for five years, I joined Carousel and became a qualified early years teacher in September 2021. I’m married with two young daughters. I love to watch young children learn because they have so much to discover, and it is a privilege to see them make their journey of development through the nursery.
Ruth
Rabbit Room Leader
Ruth is a qualified Level 3 Early Years Practitioner and our longest serving team member, having joined Carousel in 2010. Ruth is our Rabbit room leader and is one of our fire officers. Ruth particularly enjoys supporting children’s learning to meet next steps in their development.
Abbie
Deputy Manager and Pre-school Room Lead
Abbie is our Deputy Manager and a qualified Level 3 Early Years Educator. She is a designated safeguarding officer, fire officer and is part of our behaviour management team. Abbie is our Pre-School Squirrel room leader and particularly enjoys conversations with the children, listening to their interesting stories and funny jokes!
Kerry
Duckling Room Lead
Kerry is a Level 4 Early Years Advanced Educator. Kerry is one of our senior nursery nurses and is our SENDCO. She is also our Duckling room leader. She enjoys supporting children with additional needs and doing all sorts of sensory and messy activities.
Sarah
Duckling Room Assistant
Sarah is a qualified Level 3 Early Years Educator and our Duckling room assistant. She particularly enjoys watching the children grow and develop, as well as being creative and imaginative when reading stories to the children.
Georgia
Hedgehog Room Lead
Georgia is a qualified Level 3 Early Years Educator and is the leader in our Hedgehog Room. She enjoys singing with the children to encourage their speech and language development.
Lillie
Rabbit Room Assistant
Lillie is an apprentice nursery practitioner studying for her Level 2 EYP.
Martha
Hedgehog Room Assistant
Martha is an apprentice Nursery Practitioner and is the Hedgehog Room Assistant. She particularly enjoys reading stories to the children and singing nursery rhymes, two activities that really build on the children’s communication skills.
Emma
Pre-School Room Assistant
Emma is a Level Early Years practitioner and our Pre-School Room Assistant.
Jo
Jo brings a wealth of experience to our team as a mum to a young child. She works part time and primarily supports the team in our upper nursery rooms. She really enjoys watching the children take part in adult-led activities, which excite them as they engage with new ideas and types of play.
Emily
Emily has started her career in childcare at Carousel. She is a young asset to the team and hopes to become qualified in the near future.
Jen
Jen is a mum to two teenage children and brings a wealth of parental experience to the team. Jen most enjoys children’s inspiring imaginations and the role play opportunities that flow from this; what other profession allows you to dress up as a nurse mermaid and travel to space in a cardboard box?! With her Arts degree background she also loves drawing with the children.
Carly
Carly worked at Carousel for ten years before leaving to have her own child. After spending some years working as an administrator, we are delighted that she has ‘come home’ to Carousel. She is a Level 3 qualified practitioner.
